Coral Garden

This is my second bowl sculpture made entirely from stitched thread.

This bowl created challenges in learning how to control the sculpting to create a low sided bowl with a solid large rim as well as providing enough strength to allow it to carry the top heavy rim once it was embellished.

3D ripple waves were also added all around the outside of the bowl. Barnacles and corals were then added to embellish the large rim. It is approx. 12” in diameter and 6” high
